So I’m back at uni, but before I get stuck in I’m going to take a look back at what I achieved and learned over the summer. My big break was getting a job with a film equipment supply company called Production Gear Ltd. Link below…
My role at this company was to manage the website by adding new products such as cameras, lighting, sound equipment and lenses. I’m also responsible for the social media side of the company which includes doing a regular blog about various different cameras and other equipment.

A bonus that came of the back of working for Production Gear was that it gave me the chance to do some camera work at various locations including the Sonisphere music festival where i was responsible for recording live performances and recording some cut away shots. After this 3 day shoot I had learned alot as I got chance to work with some really high end equipment such as the RED One camera.
Another great learning opportunity that I was lucky enough to be part of was the production of a fellow students short film. This shoot lasted for weeks and myself and the Producer both learned alot about shooting to a schedule. Unfortunately the film fell through due to problems with one of the actresses, but we are scheduled to resume shooting with the actress replaced in the new year.
All in all I learned alot of useful skills and knowledge for the coming year. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get started.
